The only “Issue solver” is the Armenian Army

July 29,2023 10:30

A few days ago, Baghramyan Avenue was closed again, and I continued my way from the Proshyan intersection on foot. The mothers of the missing soldiers blocked the road, and their protest is entirely appropriate. The Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister meet with the Azerbaijani side several times a year and make regular concessions, but they cannot agree on the issue of prisoners and missing persons. Maybe that is not part of their functions?

But it is interesting how the “broad masses” (presumably the Civil Contract electorate) react to that complaint. Walking along Baghramyan Avenue, I heard the voices of several men behind me. “The Kocharyans are buzzing all that.” “Yes, their mind and thought is to take power,” “What will they do to take power?”, “Even if Biden comes, he will not be able to solve this issue.”

I don’t have the habit or the ability to debate with anyone. I want to give my opinion on the “problem-solution.” I am sure that only the Armenian Army can do this. The Berdzor Corridor can only be opened by force; in the same way, it is possible to protect the right of self-determination of the people of Artsakh to expel the Azerbaijanis from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and the Goris-Kapan road. And if this is not done, the state called the “Republic of Armenia” will not exist in the coming years.

Biden, Putin, Xi Jinping, Macron, and the rest really cannot solve this issue; no one will protect our homeland and compatriots instead of us. They can help us by selling or providing weapons for free.

Why is no one doing it now? Ask our “wise” leaders. You need to build a special relationship with partners so that they are interested in doing this. But when you say that you will not fight for so many meters or kilometers or that the problem of occupying your sovereign territory will be solved through “delimitation” negotiations, hardly anyone will give you a weapon. When you incite hatred against the people of Artsakh inside your country, it is unlikely that any foreign player will be interested in the self-determination of Artsakh.

Yes, Russia refuses to fulfill its obligations under the tripartite declaration. There is no hope for that country, given the, frankly, miserable situation Russia has found itself in due to Putin’s policies. So, other allies should be sought.
