“Don’t give your identification details to everybody”,- RA NA vice chairman Vahan Hovanisyan summoned yesterday.
There are few people who believe in the RA authority’s intention to hold free, fair and transparent parliamentary elections. And more, all Armenian opposition forces are sure that the upcoming parliamentary elections will be held in the same way, as they were in 2003 or worse than it. The current pre-electoral process is a good proof for such standpoints. People’s passports are gathered and a big sum of money is promised for each vote of the voter. We also are alarmed about those actions from inhabitants of Arabkir, Kentron and Erebuni communities. By the way both authority parties, RPA and PAP are interested in people’s passports.
The representatives of these two parties have visited flats on Shirak street in Charbakh, gathering passports and promising 10 000 Drams instead of it. One of the residents informed that those party representatives wanted the photos of the passports’ owners to recruit them in their parties.
Our reliable sources also inform that Ophelia Petrosyan, the principal of the school after Daniel Varujan, PAP member has gathered passports from the parents of her school’s pupils. Different officials from health protection and education spheres also alarm about the facts of gathering passports. They don’t give us their names because they are afraid of being dismissed.
The passports have also been gathered in Armavir region, in particularly in Armavir city. In particularly one of candidates of mayor, Arayik Aghababyan’s adherents, who represent Prosperous Armenia Party, gather passports here. Needy voters are admired by the proposed service so they stand in line to get the honorariums paid instead of their votes. It isn’t clear whether the gathered passports will also be used for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Besides, this “procedure” of rigging the forthcoming elections has mass and dangerous character, and even NA vice chairman Vahan Hovanisyan made an announcement on that occasion. In his words, public, political organizations, different representatives of state instances and separate persons visit our compatriots and register databases about our citizens. “Lists, which are impossible to forbid but we have RA law “About Personal Data”, and all those people who gather citizens’ passports, must know that they break the law”, – V. Hovanisyan said and warned RA citizens: “Dear compatriots, you aren’t obliged to give your passports to anyone. And more, it is RA property, which is given to you as a certificate. You have no right to give it to anyone, whoever he is and whatever he promises. Certainly, you may give the data of your passports to those persons, but law protects the data, and if you give it voluntarily, you may face to very serious problems. Credits may be taken by the data of your passport, it may be used for Internet shopping and solution of various problems, and nobody will be responsible for it but you as you did it voluntarily. And the last most important warning: look, whoever gather your passports and numbers of your passports, you are free in your choice. Nobody can check how you voted, and this is our people’s main freedom. The voting is secret, it is closed, and nobody, dear compatriots, won’t know how you will vote. Vote freely and don’t give your individual database to anybody”.
