“So Much the Worse for You,” Shushan Petrosyan Says to the Armenian National Congress (ANC)

May 09,2012 14:00

The statement made by the ANC yesterday that they came to the National Assembly “to deprive the government of power” is funny for Sushan Petrosyan, a Republican Party candidate for proportional representation, “We have heard many years and they not only haven’t done it so we can see, but it is better that they don’t do it, because the poor people are not test rabbits, one shouldn’t play with people all the time, one should think like a statesman.” During a conversation with www.aravot.am, talking about publications in the press that the ANC rally had started with burning the standards and of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and the photos of the party

officials, S. Petrosyan expressed an idea that it had been a politically incorrect attitude, to say the least, “Is it their step…? One cannot solve problems with the negative, they spread the negative, but filling an Armenian with hatred toward another Armenian, they will not build a country, I was happy that some members of the ANC had won seats in the National Assembly, I was happy that there would be a debate, but not at that level, by burning flags, in that case, what is the point in that? Do they come to achieve their ambitions or to serve the people? They say all the time that they are educated and well-bred, is that so…?”

The singer was particularly angry about the statement made by Hrant Bagratyan during the rally that “we have made an immoral man the president.” “So much the worse for them, whoever among them was the president, they would say the same thing. Serzh Sargsyan lives for the Armenian’s problems, we have to get rid of what he inherited.”

As for the statement made by the ANC yesterday on appealing the election results to the Constitutional Court, S. Petrosyan said that she didn’t treat it seriously, “The opposition always appeals, it appeals, even when it is a good thing.”
