The PACE adopted a resolution today, according to which, it condemns restrictions on the freedom of movement as a punishment for political stance.
Stressing the connection between the freedom of movement and the freedom of speech, the Assembly mentions that some states, members of the Council of Europe, abuse their legal right to forbid or to allow entrance into their territory as a punishment for political or ideological stance. Accepting the proposals of the rapporteur, Turkish delegate Haluk Koç, the PACE condemned that phenomenon.
By the way, during the discussion of the report, French delegate Frédéric Reiss noted in his speech that restrictions of the freedom of movement were widespread and reminded as an example that Azerbaijan put all those who visited Nagorno-Karabakh on a black list and many people needed multifold passports, since that country would forbid the entrance of those people who had visited Nagorno-Karabakh.
