Aram Z. Sargsyan Is Leaving for the US

September 21,2012 13:49

Yesterday representatives of the Republic Party governing body led by Aram Sargsyan had a meeting with the active members of the party in Yeghvard. The meeting was rather crowded. Suren Abrahamyan, a member of the party political council and a former mayor of Yerevan, was particularly pleased with the fact that there were quite many youths present. During the meeting, the party’s internal matters were discussed; they also talked about the steps to be taken in the short-run. In response to a question of www.aravot.am what internal matters of the party were talked about and what plans the party leadership had in the short-run, which the active members had been informed about, our interlocutor said, “I don’t know what are you interested in. Almost nothing was said about that. The issues like preparation for the congress, choosing the delegates and other internal matters of the party were on the agenda. Therefore, it was more about us than others. Admittedly, many questions were asked about the relations with other parties, having our own candidate for the upcoming presidential election, but those are subjects of serious discussion and the task of that day was different.”

Suren Abrahamyan also informed that the day of the party congress was not clarified yet either.

Tomorrow Aram Sargsyan, the leader of the party, is leaving for the United States of America, where he will have official meetings with different representatives of the US government. After he comes back, the governing body of the party will have more active meetings and discussions in regional offices, after which they will set the day of the congress and solve other issues.
