It is possible that there are people in government circles of Armenia who are unhappy with the ANC and PAP partnership. It is also likely that there are people who were very much afraid of this partnership, as it is represented by oppositions. It is not also ruled out that it is the reason that “the regime is in a panic mode”, although I am hearing about the “panic” and “agony” for at least 22 years. It remains to be surprised why the principle same regime is maintained throughout the period.
However, in my opinion, the partnership between the other two parties, the “Heritage” and ARF, is a wonderful thing. Oh, Armenian people, your only salvation is in the cooperation of parties. Moreover, it seems to me that it would be also correct to cooperate on some matters with RPA and Rule of the Law parties, who share approaches regarding these matters.
This partnership is likely to be culminated in the following statement, “We, four (two, three – A. A.) non-government parties set a goal to achieve Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation, because the country is going to destruction, and these authorities should leave a day early (and so on, what the opposition is usually saying – A. A.). By holding extraordinary presidential and parliamentary elections, we intend to establish a government that will enjoy people’s confidence, and which will save the country from destruction (and so on, A. A.).”
As soon as a statement with such content is published, it would be possible to say that, yes, a large part of the political spectrum is unanimous in its goals. The allegation about the “cracks” and “broken stones” of the government are perhaps true, but not tangible, they are matter of analysis, and interpretation. Whereas the clear declaration about the intention to change the power would be politically tangible phenomenon, regardless of whether the plan would have success, or not.
If the authors of such hypothetical statement do not want to have problems with a part of the electorate (including me), they have to add that they would nominate a single candidate in the extraordinary election, which would be one representative from these 2, 3, 4, parties (there are worthy people in all four parties), and none of them would nominate Robert Kocharyan’s candidacy. Anyway, it’s certainly a matter of their taste.
One thing is clear. The change of power in Armenia means change of the president rather than the prime minister. Fighting for the prime minister’s position is just ridiculous. The government would do a great harm to these four parties if under this system, a “non-government member” takes the office of the prime minister.
