Risk of “being infected” with malice

December 17,2014 12:52

Confucius was saying, if you hate, you are defeated. This, of course, applies to all negative emotions, both personal and public level. Conformity to natural laws is very well seen by the example of our friendly Russia. This spring, a revolution took place in Ukraine supported by the United States. Suppose, horrible and disgusting people came to power who are willing not to have good relations with Russia and are completely oriented towards the west. Is it a sufficient ground for you, respected Russian leadership, be focused on a problem of how to take a revenge on Ukrainians? The latter, naturally, have the same feelings towards the Russians, but the poor state of Ukraine does not affect us as much as Russia’s.

Instead of solving own problems (primarily economic), Russia is stuck into a war, and now the country has achieved deplorable situation, economically. And the negative and destructive emotions underlie this situation, overwhelming in the elite of this country, and, why not, among the people. I do not know how much the situation is compensated by the “moral advantages,” when the euro costs 100 rubles, so whether contemptuous expressions addressed to “gay-rope” are relevant.

If Russia is hampered by “imperial” negative emotions, then fear and panic, in particular, are our “colonial” destructive emotions. Fear, first and foremost, is a geopolitical category for us, if not for Russians, Turks would destroy us. But there are also displays of panic in the “domestic life”. For example, “dram is devaluated, oops, poor us, we must flee to Russia” (where the ruble is further devaluated). Or, a more domestic example, “the plane landed, oops, let’s quickly run to the exit, or else we would remain inside.”

But though these negative emotions are displayed in different nations in different ways, and the “ferment” is the malice, revenge and hatred, which as long ago noticed by a Chinese philosopher is the first sign of defeat. Any professional athlete will confirm it. Why is it so? Because trying to hit someone else, you hit yourself.

I see it, of course, not scientifically as follows: releasing the bacillus of your negative emotions into the atmosphere, you actually do not make it reach the addressee, rather you begin breathing this contaminated air and become sick just because of this bacillus. This does not mean that you should keep the evil “inside you.” Of course, not. It just should not be inside you.

You saw what happened. Russia became wicked over Ukraine, decided to punish the latter, and as a result, Russia suffered. And we together with Russia.
