The convulsion of the authorities, by the “No” camp

November 02,2015 14:00

NA RPA MP, General Seyran Saroyan, in response to the activities of the “No” camp and the disobedient calls voiced by this camp, laughed and mocked. “Aravot” asked a political force of the “No” camp how they treat this irony and laughter coming from the ruling party “Yes” camp, whether they are confident in themselves that even during the referendum “they hit as much as they want, the Chairman of the “Republic” party Aram Sargsyan replied, “The number one task if the government is the devastation of political field, not to reckon with dissentient and differing opinion, which is the only way to lose own independence, sovereignty and the face for any democratic state and statehood. But the government is moving toward a one-party system where there should be no one having a different opinion those who can be bought are bought, those whom they fail to buy, they try to ridicule.”

Aram Sargsyan considers it sad that none of the multi-thousand opposition parties is able to raise 100 million drams to put into its election account. According to him, the reason is that the rich are afraid of come and invest money for these ideas. In this regard, Aram Sargsyan recalled Gagik Tsarukyan and Ara Abrahamian. “In this case, rich people like Ara Abrahamian and Gagik Tsarukyan pop up and more will pop up. They say if it is the money case then we have more money than you and will claim to come to power.”

Aram Sargsyan considers himself an active supporter of “No”, however, he considers the joint activities of the “No” supporters fabricated. “I welcome all other supporters of “No”. We absolutely do not interfere with each other, but the difference in approaches is the main issue here. There are forces who think that it needs to carry out a revolution prior to getting to “No”, but to win before the elections and to go to elections with a victory, this notion is not so fresh. In the second round of the 2003 elections, Stepan Demirchyan experimented it. At the time, even in the event of public activeness and overly tension, these processes as such failed to give results. God grant, they will succeed. I have passed this way once and I do not see the problem to pass it for the second time.”

Aram Sargsyan believes that trying to take public masses thru elections is a more cordial method, and it has given its results at the presidential elections in 2003, even in 2014. According to Mr. Sargsyan, this method too has major problem geopolitically for the Russian wing will always keep the current regime. Aram Sargsyan informed that their disagreements once with the “No” camp were in this direction. “We do not also share the approach that if the “Yes” passed, it will not be possible to change the government. No difference whether the elections will be presidential or prime ministerial. I have followed the Merkel’s elections, the debates were the same, so it gives nothing to the Republicans, they will be convinced of it shortly.”

The ANC is also one of the supporters of “No”. Its campaign is to participate in the referendum and say “no”. In an interview with us, referring to the irony voiced against the “No” camp, the ANC leader Levon Zurabyan said, “This already indicates their being nervous. If they were confident in their strength, they would never make such statements, on the contrary, they would talk about the democratic process and would say that we respect our opponents, they would say, what’s wrong here, let them say what they want and we would say what we want and the people would decide through the referendum on who will win. It would be the word of a self-confident government. If thus they are trying to create an impression that they are not afraid and are in a dominant position, treat with laughter, it is a posture of a very petty, nervous and frightened people which indicates that their affairs are not so good”.

The other political force participating in the “No” camp, the “Heritage” party, believes that it is necessary to achieve regime change prior to the referendum. Despite this difference in the logic of the fight with the ANC, the “Heritage” faction leader Zaruhi Postanjyan does not agree with Levon Zurabyan. She also believes that the ruling class is nervous. Ms. Postanjyan explained, “When people are nervous, they begin laughing. The reactions of a nervous person vary, one of this varied reactions is the manifestation when they begin laughing.”
