“This process was fermented in France for a long time. The decision is directly related to the political process. The Western world has placed its relations with Turkey on a qualitatively new level given the situation in Syria,” – said editor-in-chief of “Zhamanak” newspaper Ara Gochunian in Istanbul in an interview with Aravot.am, referring to the adoption of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial by the French Senate.
As she observed, given the relevant decision of the Bundestag, Germany, one can say that the process is continuous, “We believe that the stances of the third parties, such as France and Germany, representing importance should not be sufficient to resolve the problem. The logic hints that Turkey and Armenia should sit down together one day and demonstrate their will on the solution of this problem.”
