At the second congress of the “Bright Armenia” party, Head of the “Civil Contract” party, Nikol Pashinyan said: “We want Armenia to be a republic, not a land governed by “bdeshkhs” ( ruler of a big borderland province of historical Great Armenia), the manifestation of which we witness every day and everywhere”.
According to Mr. Pashinyan, that republic can be formed only through a broad civil agreement.
Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the party, who was re-elected as chairman of the party’s council during the congress, said in his speech, “Bright Armenia” has gone a long way in the past two years: “Looking back at the challenges we have faced within these two years, we have passed through institutional, decisive stages, have formed regional councils, participated in the elections of local self-government bodies, made anti-corruption initiatives, walked around the remote villages of Armenia, presenting the ideas of the party to the people”.
Edmon Marukyan said that the vision to create a European state has unified all of them, the “Civil Contract”, the “Bright Armenia,” and the “Republic” parties, for which they did not “spare any effort” and the three political forces together created the “Yelq” bloc.
“Through thorns to stars”, said Edmon Marukyan.
The “Bright Armenia” member Mane Tandilyan said in her speech, that migration is one of the primary challenges in Armenia, and that in this Armenia nobody can succeed without contacts, so they must start building a strong state together with the people. “That struggle should be everywhere: in the opposition, in the City Council, in politics. The “Bright Armenia” works for it for 24/7”.
