At the invitation of President Armen Sarkissian, on July 30 the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, accompanied by his daughter Laura Mattarella, will conduct a two-day state visit to Armenia.
Delegation headed by President Mattarella comprises the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Enzo Moavero Milanesi and other officials.
The official ceremony of welcoming the President of Italy will take place same day at the Presidential Palace and will be followed by a private meeting between the President of Armenia and President of Italy. Later, the delegations will meet in the extended format. Presidents Sarkissian and Mattarella will make statements for the press.
In the framework of his official visit, the President of Italy will meet with the highest leadership of the country, will be hosted by His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II.
Delegation headed by President Mattarella will visit the Mets Eghern Memorial and will lay a wreath at the monument dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. The Presidents of Armenia and Italy will participate at the opening of the Armenian-Italian Center for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage.
