Ararat Zurabyan, the Chairman of the Pan-Armenian National Movement Board, made the decision to take part in the Yerevan City Council elections at once. The members of his political team also encouraged him.
“I think observing what kind of people can be nominated, who are the candidates, itself brought me to the conclusion that I should be nominated”, noted Ararat Zurabyan. Those well aware of the city should deal with the administration of Yerevan. Ararat Zurabyan considers himself well-aware.
Let us remind you, Civil Contract nominated actor Hayk Marutyan, Prosperous Armenia party – Naira Zohrabyan, and Yerkir Tsirani – Zaruhi Postanjyan.
“It is a very complex mechanism. Fortunately, I have been in this system for 6 years as a Central community leader, which I think is quite enough for this”. The candidate does not share the view that Nikol Pashinyan’s “Civil Contract” candidate for Mayor Hayk Marutyan has more chances than others.
“I think in case I am elected Mayor, I will be more useful to Nikol Pashinyan than anyone else, because if the one in the office does not perform his professional duties properly, it will cause public dissatisfaction that will be addressed also to Nikol Pashinyan”, said Zurabyan.
Ararat Zurabyan is already meeting with citizens and has made sure that he will be the next mayor of Yerevan: “To be honest, when engaging in this process, I realized that I do this not just for participation, but for certainly becoming Mayor of Yerevan, and I do not doubt that it will be so”.
