During the night of September 15th to the morning of the 16th, Suren Sepkhanyan, born 1957, was wounded in the shin from Azerbaijani fire on the Koti village. We’ve known him since 1987 when the author of my poem was the history teacher at the Koti school, and Sepkhanyan was the school’s treasurer. On September 19th, we called Sepkhanyan, who is currently being treated at the Yerevan number 1 hospital. He is under the care of famous microsurgeon Artavazd Sahakyan. Suren said that he is feeling fine.
He announced that this is the third time he has been wounded. He was first wounded 25 years ago when Azerbaijanis fired using assault rifles. Doctors removed a part of his lung after this. Then, the second time, shells fell in his backyard. Suren was wounded in the left leg, and on September 15, 2018 he was wounded in the right leg.
Koti’s administrative leader Felix Melikyan said that Suren Sepkhanyan having been wounded three times is not all that unique. There is a driver who lives in Koti whose trucks have been destroyed three times from Azerbaijani shellings.
