Acting Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan is in Paris on an official visit, where he participated in the opening ceremony for the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies.
Harutyunyan said, “I am glad to see that a branch of Tumo has opened in the heart of Europe, in Paris. Tumo is one of the greatest products of Armenia and one of the best educational platforms. It has been said often that Paris is the fashion capital of Europe. It is also a center for innovation and technology; therefore, it is important for us that the first Tumo to open outside of Armenia is located in Paris. After the mayor of Paris spoke about opening a branch in 2016, the other European centers and capitals wanted their own Tumo, too. There are plans for more branches to open in Moscow, Berlin, and other European cities. German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Tumo, and now Germans are interested in the idea.
We know that a revolution took place in Armenia this year, which only 10-12 people believed in. This revolution is the perfect example of the idea that even if a few people believe in an idea, it will take place. I brought up this example because a small revolution was started by the Papazian and Simonyan families who believed in an idea and made it a reality. And it’s not a coincidence that the Tumo network is spreading across the world.”
