The Tsarukyan faction of the National Assembly is considering presenting a new plan to the Armenian government, which will provide another option to the Lars motorway that connects Georgia and Russia. Faction deputy and economist Sergey Bagratyan spoke to reporters about this at “Post Scriptum.”
“I met with an important expert from Moscow. If we can create another motorway ourselves with Georgia, we will present the new opportunity to the Armenian government,” Sergey Bagratyan said.
What remains is for the Georgian side to not be against this. “If the cost for trucks carrying one ton from Poti to Ayrum is 93,000 dollars now, then the cost will decrease by half in order to carry out this project. I am speaking about shipments from other ports. I am speaking to our guest as an economist.”
Sergey Bagratyan did not disclose more details. He simply said, “Our guest from Russia whom we are negotiating with has influential ties in Georgia. We have prepared the text for the agreement. Gagik Tsarukyan can also use his influence to promote our plan.”
