Armenian delegation visits Georgia to exchange best practice in employment sector

EU NEIGHBOURS. The EU4Youth project ‘Better Skills for Better Future’ organised an exchange visit to Georgia for employment sector stakeholders from Armenia, between 5 and 7 November.

The visit – organised by the Save the Children International Representative Offices in Armenia and Georgia – aimed to contribute to employment sector development in Armenia through the exchange of best practices and lessons learnt with Georgian counterparts.

During the exchange visit. participants met the head of Akhalgori municpality Mr. Nugzar Tinikashvili and the director of local non-governmental organisation (NGO) ‘For Better Future’ to learn about the programs being implemented for IDPs in Tserovani.

In Tserovani IDP settlement, they also visited ‘Ikorta’, an enamel jewelry social enterprise founded by the local NGO.

A study visit was also organised to the LEPL Youth Agency and Social Service Agency to learn best practice on youth employment programmes.

The delegation also met representatives from NGOs active in the sector, learning about employment programmes implemented in the CSO sector in Georgia.

Cooperation perspectives and ways for adapting best practices to local contexts were discussed.

The exchange visit was organised in the framework of the ‘EU4Youth: Better Skills for Better Future’ regional project (2018-2019)  implemented with funding from the European Union in three countries: Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine. In Armenia, the project is implemented by Save the Children International Armenian Representative Office in cooperation with OxYGen Foundation for Protection of Youth and Women Rights. The implementing partner of Save the Children Georgia is the LEPL Youth Agency.
