“There was such a background that we sensed the support of the Armenian public. I think two interesting persons endorsed Bako Sahakyan – you have a deputy minister a bit like Hitler, Khachik Asryan, the other one was Menua Harutyunyan. I think this is also symbolic that these two people, in particular, endorsed Bako Sahakyan,” Hayk Khanumyan, an assistant to Vitali Balasanyan, the runner-up for the President of Artsakh, said after the election in Artsakh was over.
In response, Khachik Asryan, the head of the Armenian Eagles patriotic NGO, said during a conversation with us about the opinion regarding him, “I have always had deep respect for respectful generals in my conscious life. And if one of the candidates for the President of Artsakh or his assistant expressed such an opinion about the leader of the most powerful patriotic movement represented by Khachik Asryan and compared him with a disgusting figure like Hitler, I am sorry about the opinions of such people. It is the attitude of weak people; it is the opinion of spineless people on Khachik Asryan and my patriotic activities. I don’t treat the statements of such people very seriously, because I have taken up the task that the Armenian Eagles and I play a role in building a powerful statehood… they have a fear mentality.” Mr. Asryan said that he had called on the citizens of Artsakh to vote for Bako Sahakyan, because…, “Yes I have called on the victorious citizens of Artsakh to cast their vote for Bako Sahakyan who will be constantly concerned about the troubles of Artsakh within the next 5 year and who has been playing a serious role in the continuous development of Artsakh.”
In response to an observation of H. Khanumyan that during B. Sahakyan’s tenure, Artsakh had moved from the category of partly free countries to the category of not free countries and had appeared next to Azerbaijan, Mr. Asryan said, “What they say is a part of false propaganda technologies… if one enters the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, it will be enough for him to notice the freedom of the people of Artsakh and its government.”
He is convinced that there will be a serious progress in the Karabakh conflict settlement in the next 5 years thanks to Bako Sahakyan.VOICE042
