November 26,2012 14:21

The speedy trial of  Nerina Pinkhasova, a citizen of Uzbekistan and a mother to 4 minors, took place in the trial court of the Avan and Nork Marash administrative districts.

As a rule, during a speedy trial, the defendant admits his/her guilt, and there are no court proceedings.

Mainly representatives of the National Security, the Defense Ministry and other law-enforcement bodies whose cases may involve famous people resort to a speedy trial.

Nerina Pinkhasova who has basically managed to disrupt our defense system with her fraud was convicted to 6 years and 9 months in prison.

Nerina who had been convicted for fraud before and had been released early on parole introduced herself as a close relative of Colonel General Mikayel Harutyunyan, the Minister of Defense.

She promised to get apartments for prices lower than the market ones in the housing stock of the Ministry of Defense through her “relative.”

Nerina got acquainted with high-ranking officials of the Defense Ministry; she entrapped the chief of the secret unit, the sports company commander, the deputy chief of the headquarters, the chief of the financial unit, the rear services manager, platoon commanders and non-commissioned officers. In any case, the court allowed 53 victims to file a civil suit in the court.

Only the company commander from whom the minister’s “relative” took $23 000 and who met with her first was able to unmask Nerina. The company commander identified her, demanded the sum he had given, which was returned. By the way, Samvel Babayan, a former commander of the Defense Army of Nagorno-Karabakh, is also mentioned among the victims.

According to our information, the court session regarding this case is due on November 30.
