According to him, knowledge is as attractive, as a beautiful bust

The unique appeals for reading made by Antares Media Holding on Facebook that “reading books is sexy” or “reading makes you sexy” have not only gotten many likes, but have also caused some people’s resentment. www.aravot.am inquired of Armen Martirosyan, the president of Antares Media Holding, what he thought of the criticism of their promotion of reading and why they had chosen such a way. Mr. Martirosyan thinks that the most important sexual organ is the brain, and intellectual people are actually sexy. “What boy does any girl choose; the empty-headed one or the well-read one? Naturally, the well-read and intelligent one, because women instinctively and subconsciously see a breadwinner in that man, and today first of all intellect, shrewdness, which is not possible without intellect, provide for the family.” Talking about an analysis of the Association of Sexologists, our interlocutor stated that the mothers of the young men and girls who had seen a sexologist with their parents were teachers, Armenian language and literature teachers, in particular. “When I asked him why, one of the sexologists said with a smile: ‘Armen, do you remember that in the past when we wanted to feel well we would go to Bryusov?’ He didn’t mean that the Bryusov girls were faster than those of other universities; it was just that it was more interesting with the Bryusov girls. Why? Because knowing one more language makes it possible to know a new field using that language. Language is an instrument. Girls who speak several languages can read more books, a thing that those who speak only one language, Armenian, cannot do. Naturally, I am not talking about every woman or man with Armenian philological education; certainly, there are unique personalities, such as Zaven Boyajyan who speaks 17 languages. Perhaps, I will say a bold thing, but considering marriages, we can also notice that the students and alumni of the State Linguistic University after Bryusov marry earlier. And the reason is not that they look better; the issue is the brain, the intellect. To every man, an intellectual woman is more attractive. I am convinced that the most important sexual organ is the brain, charm, which stems from having and using knowledge. I am surprised that for some reason the word ‘sexy’ is perceived negatively by some people, whereas if we translate it into Armenian, it will mean attractiveness. So reading books makes one more attractive. Is it bad, dear opponents? The root of the word ‘sexy’ is sex, i.e. one sex assesses the other given its intellect; knowledge is as attractive as a beautiful bust, body, or eyes…. Why can eyes be sexy, and reading books or cooking well cannot? The same thing

applies to men; athletic brain can be perceived as sexy as an athletic body. Humorous and well-read men and women are naturally more attractive.”
