Tsovinar Nazaryan denies allegations of Gevorg Kostanyan

October 02,2013 00:33

Today, at the National Assembly, the MP of ANC fraction Hrant Bagratyan also asked questions to the candidate for Attorney General Gevorg Kostanyan, who was answering the questions of the MPs. One of the question was related to the case of officer Artak Nazaryan, deceased in 2010 in “Mehrabner” regiment. Mr. Bagratyan was interested in what the candidate for Attorney General Military Prosecutor would say to Artak Nazaryan’s relatives regarding the allegation that Artak’s death should not be qualified as a suicide, and as evidence, they present that 120 bullets attributed to Artak were in the place and did not decrease in number.

Gevorg Kostanyan, in response, reminded that Artak Nazaryan’s case is now at the Court of Cassation, “the culprits, who made him commit suicide, are in prison,” and also said that at this point it is impossible to say how it happened that the cartridges were full, but knows that forensic-ballistic investigation with capsule-bullet-weapon combination, has confirmed that “the capsule from this weapons and this bullet had shot our victim.” He also said that “any argument that has sounded, I have invited the successor of the victim, the lawyer and have given a complete answer.” These words could be assumed that the victim’s successor and the lawyer have received the “complete answers” to their questions. But, in the interview with “Aravot”, Artak Nazaryan’s successor, Tsovinar Nazaryan, said diametrically the opposite, “He is a liar. We certainly were not satisfied. After the meeting, at the “Aravot”, Naira Mamikonyan has talked to us, me and Zhanna Alexanyan who was present at that meeting, and has publish big articles. It is clear from this how unhappy we were from that meeting, what complete answer they are talking about.”

However, how the Military Prosecutor has explained the fact that 120 bullets attributed to Artak were in the place? Tsovinar Nazaryan said, “He did not explain in any form. They say that the average gun can contain more than 30 bullets, 31 or 32. We do not deny it, even though many experts say that it can not, but because it is controversial, we do not deny. But the fact remains fact that before his death, Artak received 120 bullets. After his death, they were all in the place in three cases, 30 in each, the fourth case was in the gun with 29 cartridges inside, and one cartridge was in the muzzle of the gun, it makes 120, all were in the place. And, now, where did they get the bullet, with which Artak allegedly killed himself? They have found a capsule from the place of the incident and have sent it for examination. Conclusion of the examination gives another number of the capsule, they say that it is the same number, simply read backward, how they read number 78 backward, I have no idea. My assumption is that the investigator that by his confession has made test shots in the place, he has made these trial shooting just for getting the capsule released from Artak’s gun, because the capsule in the incident could not have any relations with Artak’s gun. It is obvious that it could not be Artak’s. Because, if you are a man, and you want to commit suicide, why should you take “a bullet from the side”? For what? Not to have a deficit in the detachment unit? Was it his only problem left?… Just this fact alone denies the fact of suicide. But, such proofs are many. Including the fact that all fingerprints were scratched from the gun.”
