Hovhannes Igityan. “Serzh Sargsyan gave him away.”

February 18,2014 14:20

“I do not know whom Serzh Sargsyan’s words were addressed to: the politicians? In one place, he mentioned “my opponents,” their “ill-wishers”. To the public? To those 80 percent speaking against? To VHD Union members? Because he was answering their questions, and even said that he is not angry rather than encourages the audience so that the latter, in their turn, will encourage others. I did not see this enthusiasm among the members of the VHD Union. It is not that after Serzh Sargsyan’s speech, everyone thought it was a very good thing for Armenia and they need to go to convince people that it is our salvation to implement it”, – said ANM Board member Hovhannes Igityan, in the conversation with Aravot.am, referring to the President Sargsyan’s statement on mandatory funded mention system delivered on Saturday, at the VHD Union Congress. For the sake of justice, our interlocutor notes that after the speech, however, the wave of complaints was not accelerated. “Everything remained the same.” As assessed by Hovhannes Igityan, Serzh Sargsyan’s speech, in general, was a little bit in a non-professional manner. “I do not want to say it was a lower level, however, Serzh Sargsyan tried to explain in simple language. I assume that he wanted every delegate to understand him. However, even in his non-professional speech as such, attempting to persuade, perhaps, even convincing the RPA members, there was an episode in which Serzh Sargsyan, indirectly or directly, gave him away. He said that the money is very much needed for our economy. Followed by this, I understood that the mandatory funded pension system is not directed to ensuring people’s old-age twenty years later. It follows the notion that other resources: international donors, banks, and internal funds are exhausted and it is left to collect five or ten thousand drams from people to rescue the economy.”
