Chairman of the Armenian Institute for International and Security Affairs Stepan Safaryan is concerned that the situation on the border will grow hotter by November, since Russia wants to make clear for Armenia not to deal with the European Union. However, the RA-EU contract is anticipated to be signed in November.
Mr. Safaryan noticed that the OSCE Minsk Group statements are actually losing their influence too, as evidenced by the fact that we again had a victim on the border. “The fact that several weeks ago, as well as after the last bloody incident, Russia again provided Azerbaijan with armaments, the fact that Russia obviously demonstrates a deepening in Russian-Azerbaijani relations, are indirect measures to make Armenia understand that the latter must not deal with the EU. That is why the situation on the border will grow hotter by November”.
