Collective Security Treaty Organization Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov who arrived at Shengavit department of Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, did not clarify the reasons of his arrival. However, as it is known, he is charged with the March 1 case for overthrowing the constitutional order with a group of people.
Journalists asked if Khachaturov admits the accusation, the latter answered, no. Yuri Khachaturov did not respond to any other question. Presumably, the court is considering the petition to detain him.
Let us remind that the same court is also examining the petition to detain the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan.
Mass protests were held in Armenia, after presidential elections on 2008. The protests were organized by the supporters of the First President of Republic of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosian. During the protest held on March 1, 2008, clashes broke out between police and protesters. President Robert Kocharyan declared a 20-day state of emergency.
