“I am not the deputy foreign minister of the United States, but I am of Armenia. Therefore, I do not want to comment on Bolton’s statement. I can only say that any resolution to the Artsakh conflict needs to be agreed upon and acceptable for the people of Armenia and Artsakh,” said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruben Rubinyan regarding National Security Advisor of the United States John Bolton’s announcement that Nikol Pashinyan needs to make critical steps in resolving the conflict if he receives the majority of the votes in the upcoming snap elections.
“As far as what fundamentals are acceptable for the Armenian side- this is known to everyone since the new government, as well as the Prime Minister himself, have spoken about their approach time and time again,” Ruben Rubinyan emphasized. When asked if he sees any danger in Bolton’s statement, Rubinyan said, “not at all.”
