‘My Step forcefully drawing RPA in to National Assembly’: Citizen’s Decision leader Suren Sahakyan

November 30,2018 18:32

The favored party in these elections, My Step, is artificially raising the former ruling RPA’s balance and is trying to bring the party back into parliament. The members of the Citizen’s Decision Social Democratic party are convinced of this. The head of the Citizen’s Decision party ballot, Suren Sahakyan, summarized the campaigns for reporters and said that the campaigns have a very “black and white” atmosphere. He said that it would be good if the debates were held in an ideological manner. It seems to Sahakyan that this is taking place deliberately. “The RPA is forcefully being drawn back into parliament. This was a structure where it was a dead body. The My Step alliance has been responsible for this ever since it expressed the black-and-white idea during the Yerevan City Council elections. When the favored party continually refers to only one other party, the other party’s balance rises. If this were an ideology, that would be normal, but this is non-ideological.”

According to Suren Sahakyan, the past and current authorities do not have any different plans from one another regarding economic policy. Even more, their plans continue, despite the longer length of time the one governed, and the shorter length of time the other did. The exclusion is the anti-corruption element. “It is the same policy where, at its base, the citizens are absent with their problems. People are statistics used to improve or not improve a certain sector. If a person is a burden, living in poor socioeconomic conditions, then they can be accused of being lazy and such. The RPA was continuing this, as well as the new government,” Suren Sahakyan said.
