“Over the past few days, we have heard that people are worrying about the possibility of limitations being placed on the work of journalists. As someone who used to be a journalist and as someone who is now a deputy, I want to dispel those rumors on behalf of the faction and confirm that the transparency of our activities remains fundamental,” My Step faction deputy Sargis Khandanyan said in parliament.
“We do not have any intentions to limit or impose obstacles on the work of journalists. Many people in this hall have fought to ensure freedom of the press and against limitations to freedom of speech. It is absurd to think now that anyone would impose limitations on your activities now,” Sargis Khandanyan said.
According to him, freedom of speech and freedom of the press do not have any alternatives in Armenia.
