The President of France Emmanuel Macron sent a congratulatory message to President Armen Sarkissian on the occasion of Armenia’s Independence Day.
The message states:
“Mr. President, dear friend,
On the occasion of Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, on behalf of the French people and my own behalf I send you my warmest congratulations.

France and Armenia can be proud of the full-fledged relations based on historical ties, collective memory, and common vision. These privileged relations more than ever constitute a wealth which we have to make grow further. They make us stronger in withstanding challenges which our countries face.
I would like to assure you that France is determined to assist Armenia in the brave undertaking of making reforms which the Armenian government has been carrying out since 2018. France stands next to you in promoting a new rise for your economy as well as in assisting Armenia to invest in long-term concrete program in the healthcare area and in the fight against the climate change. All actors of our bilateral relations are ready more than ever to assist in carrying out reforms and participate in the economic upsurge. Despite restrictions imposed by COVID-19, I express my satisfaction on our recent achievements in the inter-university, educational, and cultural areas.
I take this opportunity to underline that France, as a Co-Chair of the Minsk Group, will spare no effort to restore quickly the negotiation process between the parties, with the anticipation of a peaceful and durable resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
