We all have seen the condition the Armenian state is in and that doesn’t need any further description. In this situation, Pashinyan, his government, and My Step should not have had time for anything else other than relieving people’s burdens and finding solutions to get out of this disaster. But alas, they are mainly focused on PR, shows, and propaganda as always. We have also seen some absurd episodes within that propaganda. I don’t think that team is so uneducated as to confuse national borders with state administrative territories, but it’s a topic of discussion used as bait, so it must be discussed.
There are also claims spread in this propaganda that are true on their own, such as that the former regime seeks revenge. That is not only true in Armenia, but also in any other state; the people who were overthrown always wish to return to power. But in our case, that is a secondary issue. That is only a small portion of the entire tragic picture. Speaking about it is, again, a topic that diverts people’s attention away from the situation created in our country. And the essence of that situation is not a fight between the “former” and “new” regimes, but instead the embarrassing loss in war and its consequences. The number one person to blame for that surprisingly does not see himself as such.
I believe that, besides pro-Nikol people, those seeking revenge, and those who stole from the state, there are tens of thousands of citizens who think like I do. Just as in 2018, a revolution, regime change, and maintaining power are not on my wish list now. Now, I simply believe that the Prime Minister, government, parliament, and political parties need to take united steps in order to reduce tensions. But without a new Prime Minister, I do not believe that this would be possible because Pashinyan, either willingly or unwillingly, is the detonator of future tensions. That is his personality and the main characteristic of his political activities. It’s clear that new tensions, divisions, and clashes will bring about new tragedies.
And this is why I think we need a peaceful transformation where every participant in the political process must remain constrained and careful. By the way, I strictly condemn calls to get revenge on the Prime Minister physically. This not only violates a particular article of the Criminal Code, but it is also very dangerous from a national security standpoint.
