Participants in the civil disobedience protests of the Homeland Salvation Movement went to the Yerevan State University. They said that YSU is an institution that educates dignified citizens, which is why they went to the university- so they could inform people what their reason for protesting is. They were chanting, “Stand up, students” and “Armenia without Nikol.”
The acting director of YSU, Gegham Gevorgyan, met with the young protesters. The protesters demanded that he express his view.
“I reaffirm the opinion stated on November 21st that this government should resign. But that does not mean that public order should be overthrown,” the acting director said. The protesters demanded that he express his opinion on Andranik Kocharyan’s statement that they will fire upon the people.

Gegham Gevorgyan said that the statement was expressed in another manner. He did not respond to the question of whether Shushi is Armenian or not.
“A university director or professor who hesitates to answer whether Shushi is Armenian or not has nothing to do with the university,” one of the protesters said.
The protesters then went outside to the university grounds. The university is entirely surrounded by police officers, but the protesters said that they are not scared of the police.
There were clashes between the police and protesters at the University of Economics. “This isn’t Nikol’s, the students have rights,” one of the protesters said. The police officers said that the decision to close the gates was made by the university’s administration. The young protesters said that the administration is holding the students hostage, and the decision to hold students hostage “is illegal.”
Finally, the protesters also entered the University of Economics.
