“Artsrun Hovhannisyan’s statement reported about a crime. In his answer, he bypassed the suggestion to mention specific names, considering that it was not important. However, substantiating that statement is very important. Artsrun Hovhannisyan, who made a statement in support of the authorities and Pashinyan and his wife in the whole interview, blackened Pashinyan’s opposition with his statements,” Gegham Manukyan, a member of the Armenia alliance faction, told Aravot Daily.
Aravot asked Manukyan how he would comment on Artsrun Hovhannisyan’s sensational statement although Hovhannisyan did not name anyone. Artsrun Hovhannisyan stated during Petros Ghazaryan’s program on Public TV that after the 44-day war, some circles offered him to come out, blame the authorities, and receive appropriate financial opportunities. Hovhannisyan also said that he had been offered to say that the authorities had sold the land and that the war had been lost from the beginning so that his life would be secure with everything. In an interview with Aravot, Gegham Manukyan said, “Pashinyan also made various open statements during the war and after that about alleged betrayal and sabotage, creating public attitudes. However, they were not later confirmed by law enforcement. Now, the law enforcement agencies must respond very quickly to Artsrun Hovhannisyan’s statement and confirm or deny such cases, naturally this time examining the element of false betrayal in Hovhannisyan’s action.”
