At the session of the NA Foreign Relations Committee, where the “Armenia” faction presented for discussion the draft of the NA statement “in connection with the regular closure of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan,” CC MP Maria Karapetyan said that on December 14, 2022, the NA has already accepted the statement and read the entire text of the statement. She emphasized that the assessments of the blockade of Artsakh are almost identical to those of both the opposition and themselves.
There was an opportunity to accept it jointly, but the opposition refused. On the other hand, there is a considerable difference between the speech of the project representative Andranik Tevanyan and the text of their statement. She, as a co-rapporteur, proposed to vote “no” on the project.

Tevanyan, responding to her, announced. “Our texts and yours could not be identical at all. Because, in our text, we say that In our text, we say that this and similar belligerent, genocidal actions once again prove that Artsakh cannot be part of Azerbaijan and that the only guarantee of Artsakh’s security is the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh.”
Tevanyan insisted that they answer: if Pashinyan says that the people of Karabakh will decide, he cannot negotiate on their behalf; what right has he reserved in Prague to decide about Karabakh and make statements about Karabakh now? Maria Karapetyan answered that the positions attributed to CC need to be corrected and urged not to develop these positions with imagination.
