Martin Vardazaryan. “I do not think it’s true that the Genealogy defeated.”

May 26,2015 12:18

“The Eurovision concept has nothing to do with the music, the performers and the content”, said composer Martin Vardazaryan, in the conversation with Aravot.am, referring to the “Eurovision” song contest. The representative of Sweden was the winner of the “Eurovision-2015” song contest in Vienna, Austria, while the Genealogy group representing Armenia ranked the 16th place. In Martin Vardazaryan’s words, underground games are going on the Eurovision, and he does not think it’s true that the Geneology Group defeated. “They performed at a very high level, and left a very positive impression. On the one hand, it is good that we did not take the first place. Too much expenses.”

He added that the Armenian people should use Eurovision as another platform for its recognition. To the question of whether Genealogy managed to extend the message of the song to the Europe, the composer replied, “If it are fifty songs, no matter how they try with 2-3 concerts, the message of the song would not get to the destination. In Armenia, the message of the song reached the destination as we were watching it for five times during the day, here, there was also a matter of becoming accustomed.” Martin Vardazaryan noted that he likes the song represented by Russia, both by its performance and sensitivity. Concluding his remarks, he said, “Do not take everything too close. Most importantly, do not say from the very first day that the whole world wants us to be the first, because after it, those who have it in mind become more disappointed and inadequate to the fact. Hence, we should not only be careful, but also use it as a platform for once again manifesting ourselves.”
