“Today’s state officials, who exist as governors, for example, lie so that the people are not aware of what is happening at the border,” said Ashot Minasyan, commander of the Sisakan detachment, freedom fighter, and military figure, during a press conference at the Mirror club.
He praised the leaders of Syunik’s communities for being able to go to the border with the people and the volunteers of Sisian and stay informed. Ashot Minasyan considered the statements being made within the borders of the Republic of Armenia about how the situation is relatively calm in recent days as another manipulation by the current leadership of the country. He continued, “Conspiracy agreements have been reached, which were made before informing the people.”
Ashot Minasyan said that the enemy had advanced in all locations along Syunik’s border and explained. “If we start looking, they advanced everywhere starting from the Lachin line through Ishkhanasar and crossing through Sotk, not only in Ishkhanasar. They came forward everywhere. The boys of Khoznavar and Khnatsakh pushed them back as much as they could. But the people are not provided with weapons and ammunition to defend themselves. I think it’s done deliberately.”
Ashot Minasyan is sure that the leaders of Syunik’s communities are able to defend their borders as much as possible and call on the people. He is sure that with that call, the people will come out to defend their borders. “The mayors of Syunik are not only self-organizers but also leaders of their own kind. However, by not giving that opportunity, the authorities are taking it to the phase where the enemy gets deeper and closer, and our people feel humiliated. The weak authorities of our country, the weak commanders of the army, headed by Vagharshak Harutyunyan, do not allow society to arm themselves. They do everything to make the people feel humiliated and dependent.”
