/TASS/. Russia and Turkey will continue preparations for the ninth meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council between the two countries with the participation of Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday at a news conference following talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
“Regarding the summit between Presidents Putin and Erdogan, we have agreed that we will continue preparations for the ninth meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council, which is to be held on Turkish soil this year,” he said.
For his part, Cavusoglu noted that Turkey was “happy to host the Russian side” on its soil.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov earlier reported that there was an agreement between Moscow and Ankara on the visit of the Russian President, but the specific dates have not yet been confirmed, and explained that the trip will take place when the schedules of the heads of states and epidemiological situation allow it.
