Aravot Daily inquired of Vardan Harutyunyan what had come of the issue of granting him an access to the verdicts on prisoners of conscience of the Soviet period. Let us remind that the National Security Service had denied him an access twice. In response to our question, Harutyunyan said: “Today, on February 22, I had a meeting with the National Security Service representatives. The issue of granting me an access to the verdicts on prisoners of conscience of the Soviet period was discussed during the meeting. An agreement was reached that I would be granted an access, in accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act of the Republic of Armenia. For now, one can say that the issue is being solved. I express my gratitude to the mass media and journalists for their sympathy and support.”
